Michael L. Wilson was born in Charleston, West Virginia in 1945 and attended public schools in Charleston until he started his studies at West Virginia University. After graduating WVU in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, he started his career as a civilian engineer for Department of the Navy at Charleston Naval Shipyard.
In 1985 he was offered the opportunity to transfer to Submarine Base Kings Bay to help activate Strategic Weapons Facility, Atlantic. As the sixth civilian employee hired by SWFLANT, he was selected as Head, Manpower and Management Systems Division. He retired after a 31 year federal career in 2000.
Mr. Wilson was appointed to the Board of Assessors in 2010 and serves as St. Marys representative on the Board under Commissioner Blount.
Mr. Wilson resides in Shadowlawn in St. Marys with his wife, Kathie. They have a married daughter, Kristen and two handsome grandsons.
