Camden County Awarded $1.2 Million Dollar Grant

The State of Georgia has awarded Camden County Board of County Commissioners a sub-grant funded from the federal Homeland Security grant program. The amount of the grant is $1,200,000 to build capabilities that enhance homeland security.

These monies are awarded for interoperable communication capability. This grant is specifically awarded to build infrastructure to join the Southeast Georgia Regional Radio Network.

Camden County Curbside Rates Adjusted for Customers in Unincorporated Areas

Each year, the County’s Solid Waste Ordinance calls for a review of the rates to ensure they cover the cost of service. A 10-year history shows that rates were decreased by 4% despite an increase in expenses by 18%.

Rates have traditionally been well below the actual costs for each account due to subsidies that are no longer available.
