Does Camden County have an annual audit?
Yes, the County's audit is performed every year by an outside independent auditor. The County's current auditor is Karp, Ronning, and Tindol, PC of Savannah. The complete report, including the auditor's opinion letter on the County's financial position, financial statements, and other financial information are included in the CAFR.

What is the CAFR and when is it available?
The Certified Annual Financial Report (CAFR) includes the annual audit and other useful information that describes current year milestones and future outlook for the County's activities. It is due to the State of Georgia within six months of the close of the County's fiscal year so it will normally be available by December 30.

Does Camden County have any long-term debt?
Currently, the County has no general obligation bonds. The remaining balance on capital leases totals $673,926 and will be paid out by June 30, 2010. The Solid Waste Department issued $6.8 million in revenue bonds on April 15, 2002. The remaining balance on these bonds of $5.6 million will be paid out by June 30,2022

What is closure and post-closure costs for the landfill?
These are the estimated costs associated with the actual closing of the landfills. The costs are developed by engineers and updated annually. The County updates a CD annually that has been established specifically for this purpose. The current value in the CD is $3.9 million. This balance increases each year to coincide with the actual liability or estimated remaining life of the facilities.
