Camden County requires all mobile-home owners to purchase and display a mobile home location permit (PDF) yearly. Please follow these procedures to acquire a new permit:
Contact Planning and Building 912-729-5603 for procedure to move a mobile home into the county.
Contact the Tax Assessor’s Office, 912-576-3419 to notify them that you are moving the mobile home into the county. The Tax Assessor’s Office will need a copy of the buyers order, or title, so the information may be added to the mobile home tax digest. Once this information has been added to the system you will be given a printout to bring to the Tax Commissioner’s Office so the location permit may be issued. If the home was previously located in another county in Georgia, you must have a copy of the current paid tax receipt for the mobile home.
Bring the printout from the Tax Assessor’s Office to the Tax Commissioner’s Office so the location permit may be issued. The fee for the original location permit is $10. In addition, taxes may be due.
The permit must be prominently attached and displayed on the mobile home. Failure to display a decal required in code section 48-5-492 can result in minimum fine of $25, maximum of $200.
