Nonresponse followup (NRFU) begins no later than August 11, 2020, and U.S. Census Bureau workers will begin visiting individual homes to assist with completion of the 2020 Census.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for Camden County residents to give back to our community without leaving their homes,” said Deputy County Administrator Shawn Boatright. “It is vitally important for Camden County to achieve the best count possible. Now is the time to check with your friends and neighbors to make sure everyone is counted.”
Census data is used to determine how over $675 billion in federal funding is distributed annually. Additionally, this data decides representation at the Federal, State, and local level. The State of Georgia gained a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives after the 2010 Census. However, South Georgia communities lost seats in the Georgia State Senate to metro-Atlanta area communities as a result of the count. This information is also used to draw district boundaries for local elections.
