Kevin Barkley, Camden County Senior Director of Solid Waste, has been elected to serve as Vice President of the Solid Waste Association of North America-Georgia (SWANA-Georgia) Chapter.
“We are proud of Kevin’s leadership here in Camden County,” said County Administrator Steve Howard. “This is an excellent opportunity to showcase our community at a statewide level through the excellent work of SWANA-Georgia.”
The SWANA-Georgia Chapter serves 387 members throughout Georgia through conferences, certifications, publications, and technical training courses. Additionally, SWANA-Georgia represents industry leaders from every discipline in solid waste management along with providing multiple benefits to their members, including the opportunity to hear about the latest technologies and/or developments in the industry and to network with other solid waste professionals.
Mr. Barkley is filling an unexpired term and will serve as Vice President of SWANA-Georgia through June 30, 2022. He is currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors assisting with Georgia Landfill Operator training and certification and has worked for Camden County since December 2018.
The Camden County Solid Waste Authority operates three sites in Camden County, including a Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) landfill, a Construction and Demolition (C & D) landfill, and the Old Still Road Yard Waste Site.
