The Camden County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce the hiring of Campbell Smith as the new Director of Solid Waste for Camden County. In this role, Mr. Smith will direct overall landfill operations for the Construction and Demolition (C&D), Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), and the Old Still Yard Waste landfill sites, while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
"We are excited to welcome Campbell Smith to Camden County,” said Deputy County Administrator Seth Collins. “His experience and certifications make him an excellent choice to join the hardworking individuals at the Camden County landfills.”
Mr. Smith has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Mississippi. Additionally, he holds a Landfill Operator Certification and has completed the Manager of Landfill Operations (MOLO) course from the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA).
Previously, Mr. Smith served as the Solid Waste Director for the Dougherty County, Georgia Landfill. He has additionally worked with biomedical waste, product delivery, and real estate. He began work in late July and lives with his family in St. Marys.
