The CWDB is comprised of representatives from each of the Region 12 counties, including Bryan, Bulloch Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, and McIntosh. The primary responsibility of the Board is to ensure that workforce development programs within our region operate effectively and efficiently to support the labor and job training needs of all employment seekers.
With a focus on strategic planning, policy development, and oversight of the local workforce system, the CWDB consists of at least 51% private and 49% public sector representation with some mandated partners. The Board of County Commissioners appoints members to the CWDB who serve a term of three (3) years. Board and Committee meetings are generally held in Richmond Hill and Savannah. Representatives of businesses with employment opportunities that reflect the employment opportunities of the local area, as well as owners of businesses, chief executive or operating officers, employers with optimal policy-making or hiring authority, are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications for applicants include the following:
- Must reside in Camden County
- Ability to serve a term of three (3) years
- Personal commitment to the County and Constituents they represent
- Ability to actively participate in the efforts of the Board & Committees
- Ability to attend regularly scheduled meetings & participation on committees generally held at the Richmond Hill City Center at 11:00 AM followed by lunch
CWDB Committees generally meet in the alternate months and schedules are set by the individual committee.
