The county and cities still have challenges with electricity, water, and sewer. Currently, there are nearly 14,000 households without electricity in Camden County. In Kingsland, only 43 of 70 sewage lift stations are operational. In St. Marys, only 35 of 75 sewage lift stations are currently functioning.
We are continuing to assess restoration of critical services and will lift the State of Emergency when conditions allow. We appreciate that Governor Deal recognizes that each county must make its own decision about lifting evacuation orders and at this time we would like to reinforce that we are still in a voluntary evacuation. Additional restrictions may be imposed by local cities as determined necessary following the lifting of our voluntary evacuation and State of Emergency.
We remain in Phase One of the Camden County Unified Re-Entry Plan, which only allows for re-entry of public safety and public works personnel. Any changes in re-entry phase may be found on the Camden County website and our Facebook pages for Camden County Government and Camden County EMA.
