Notice of Property Tax Increase

The Camden County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will increase countywide property taxes by 17.11 % and increase unincorporated service district property tax by 152.29%.

All concerned citizens are invited to the three public hearings on this tax increase. All three hearings will be held at the Camden County Government Services Building, 200 East 4th Street, Woodbine, GA. The hearings will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. There will also be a public hearing on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.

This tentative increase will result in a countywide millage rate of 15.79 mills, an increase of 2.307 mills above the roll back rate. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be not more than 13.483 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $106.12 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $115.35.

This tentative increase will result in an unincorporated service district millage rate of 1.655 mills, an increase of 0.999 above the roll back rate. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will not be more than 0.656 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $45.95 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $49.95.
